 The Problem... One of the real issues in a successful pro-active Trading Standards office is how the high volume and diversity of goods retained for examination, or exhibits are stored and managed until case closure. Time is precious and expensive; calls from defendants about what has been taken and what can be returned can be lengthy and exhaustive. Recording of 1000+ items from a single seizure, held mainly in bags, requiring schedules and exhibit references can result in excessive hours being worked. Can you easily prove in subsequent audit how you have correctly disposed of every item? How do you negate claims that the goods you seized have been damaged by you and are now worthless? How often has property management during a case given you cause for concern? The Solution... PROMANTiS is an application designed to help you solve the logistical problems of high volume property management. Being specifically designed for Trading Standards, the application handles samples from Fair Trading, Animal Health Investigation (ear tag numbers included), Product Safety, Food Inspection (both Formal and Informal samples) and Legal Section (interview tapes). As well as all subsequent actions taken throughout the life cycle of the property, the recording of all evidential seals and disposal of property with a detailed history of every item saves considerable time during preparation of the case papers and helps manage continuity. PROMANTiS has been shown to vastly reduce the time taken to initially record the contents of bags taken at premises being investigated. Calibration of measuring equipment can also be recorded and tracked with the ability to produce reminders after a set period to seek income generation from annual checks.
