More Details

Briefings are based on the requirements of the National Briefing Model and are created within an electronic template by the Force or Divisional Intelligence Unit. Templates may be constructed as each Force requires and will provide areas for text, nominal information, images, maps, video, audio content and hyperlinks to network based resource.

The application provides a review of material and prioritisation of material by business managers either meeting as a Force or Divisional Management Meeting. This will determine that effort is directed to those issues that are most important.

Briefings may be published to targeted recipients including neighbourhood/local Policing teams, specialist groups/teams and individual officers. Where the Force intranet allows, briefing items may be viewed by MAPA third parties and increasingly important where Regional collaboration is being developed, bordering Police Forces.

Each Briefing item has been designed to be intelligence based, impactive and relevant and may be used either within a formal or a self briefing environment. They will link to other intranet resources including NIM product documents and intelligence submission applications. Where practical, Briefing may be interfaced with existing applications, for example intelligence, custody and crime to produce automated content. Where the Force is using Mobile access, Briefing is supplied with interfaces for Mobile Servers .
