NIM Briefing
The National Intelligence Model has determined that Police Forces review their working practices for the briefing and subsequent tasking of officers. Central to this remains the need for timely, intelligence based information specifically directed to those who need to be aware.
Forces currently using locally produced web pages, Word or PowerPoint are finding input is time consuming with obvious double entries. Reporting and audit functionality is limited. These deficiencies continue to be identified as areas for improvement by HMIC.
The integration of the KIM Briefing application within the intranet provides the opportunity to automate processes and where appropriate deliver real or slow time Briefings to any department, team or officer within the Force.
Content can be varied i.e. may include images, maps, linked documents, video and pre formated text for maximum impact. Briefings may be produced for daily management meetings against priorities of the day and then published based on decisions made. Briefing is built to reflect the Force structure to include Districts and Teams e.g. SNT where regional material may be created to reflect local issues.
Where specific actions need to be completed, each Briefing provides for an allocation flag and complete history of what actions have been undertaken by which officers. A result marker is also available to indicate a positive outcome with associated reporting.
